The idea
A tiny menu-bar capture tool for curiosities. Jot an idea, and a headless Claude call quietly enriches it with a one-line “what it is”, a one-line “why it’s useful”, and a link.
It is a zettelkasten: capture ideas, connect them, and let the insights fall out of the connections. The filing and the linking are the model’s job, so the only thing asked of you is the thought itself. It also looks both ways: inward, at what your own notes now add up to, and outward, at one thing a day from the wider world that your collection suggests you’d want.
Design principles
- Curation sits with the model, not the user. No manual “follow” list. You can’t know in advance which captures will have news.
- Offline is the floor. Capture, browse and search always work with no network. Enrichment and the digest are best-effort when connected.
- Calm, not a nag. Silent when nothing notable. No badges, no notifications.
The flow
- Press the global hotkey and the capture field opens, focused.
- Type the idea, or dictate it.
- Press the hotkey again. The capture commits and enrichment runs in the background.
- The item appears in the list, “enriching…”, then fills in with its one-liner and link.
Captures live in plain, readable JSON, and export to an Obsidian vault that curio can read back.
